Cataratas Group
Since 1999, the Cataratas Group has been operating with excellence in the management and operation of transformative experiences in parks and tourist attractions, and is the leading sustainable tourism company in Brazil.
The Group’s history began in the city of Foz do Iguaçu, where a group of investors came together to compete for the concession of services in the Iguaçu National Park, starting the management of Cataratas do Iguaçu S.A. This initiative marked the beginning of a successful journey in ecotourism.
Expanding its operations, it joined EcoNoronha in 2011 and, the following year, arrived in Rio de Janeiro with the concession of Paineiras-Corcovado and the creation of AquaRio.
Since then, the Group has incorporated Marco das 3 Fronteiras (2015) in Foz do Iguaçu and BioParque do Rio (2016), formerly RioZoo, in Rio de Janeiro. The next step is the opening of AquaFoz in 2025. The Foz do Iguaçu Aquarium will bring a new tourist offering to the region that is already so sought after by national and international tourists.
In 2025, Urbia + Grupo Cataratas’ mission is to transform Jericoacoara National Park into a model of sustainable tourism, combining innovation, environmental conservation and positive impact on the community and the environment.
The Grupo Cataratas, through its attractions, seeks to create and promote a lasting legacy of positive impact.
